Textur Mag #7: the money issue (EN)
magazine launch mini-festival
Wedding is full of creators of all sorts, with no shortage of
independent publishers. On Friday, October 9th, 800a will welcome its third book launch event curated by the Re(a)d Wedding Kollektiv. We will on this night celebrate textur
mag's 7th issue, the first of two volumes to be released this year, featuring Myriam Amri, M.P. Brooks, Sonja Hornung, Seda Mimaroğlu, and Anton Vertwen. The collected images and texts, under the umbrella of “The Money Issue,” continue the vision of long-time Weddinger Juli Cordray. For each issue, textur mag brings together one-of-a-kind pieces with differing binding, orientation and sizes to always keep readers guessing, but with one constant: the print method. As always, Issue 7, Vol. 1 of textur mag will be entirely printed in the vibrant method of riso. Join for readings, talks, pop-up shops and excellent music.
Doors - 19:00
-We’ll open with a mini book & zine festival with publications by our issue 7 vol. I contributors, including @makam.editions, @florets.mag and @asameenamag, among others!
-Songwriter @peterkommader will play live guitar / loop music (if there were also a drummer, it would be considered post-rock)
From 20:00
-The stage will open with some short presentations by our contributors:
-poetry performance by @brookswarhier
-reading and zine presentation by @sonja.tineke.hornung
-poetry readings by @sedamimaroglu
From 21:00
-The mini book & zine festival floor opens again with a drop-in workshop: ‘How to Make Money’ by @vertwen_aaa — with tools and materials to design a banknote of your own currency.
-Plus, there will be a zine-making area with materials and tools to write, draw, collage, bind. Loose pages from textur’s past issues will also be available to bind together to make your own customized, mix-and-match issue of textur mag.
-A DJ set by Kiki Dolce @vicky.jiang will take us dancing through the night - her selections are not dictated by boxed genres but by sound that deeply cuts then uplifts. You could say deep house, tech house, Chicago/NYC house, acid house? House is house but it’s also not house.
