Stripperature

Once upon a time, our beloved collective member Scarlett recited Shakespeare’s verses by heart, gracefully hanging upside down on a pole. On that night, Stripperature was born.

We want to fight the stigma that implies sexiness and culture are polar opposites. In a patriarchal society, everything that represents the feminine is deemed as superficial and not taken seriously, stigmatized. Women and femmes are expected to be either 'sexy' or 'smart', but never both at the same time. 

Stripperature will be structured like a traditional book club, with a spicy twist: every meeting is conducted by members discussing books in whatever makes them feel sexiest. The meetings will start with a short show by the Berlin Strippers Collective, where a piece of literature is re-enacted on stage. After the show, the assigned readings will be discussed.

We ask our cis-male allies to respect that this is intended as a safer space for women, femmes, and thems. 

Please bring whatever clothing makes YOU feel sexiest: lingerie, underwear, whatever. You can change on-site.
